Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 July 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
Loft Control ("the Service", "we", "us") is a web application for managing racing pigeon lofts: race programming, feeding and medication schedules, weather-based decision support, and performance analytics. These terms govern your use of the Service. By registering an account you agree to them.
2. Your account and organisation
Registering creates an organisation (your loft) with you as its owner. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for what happens under your account. You must provide a working email address so we can reach you about your account.
3. The 14-day trial and billing
Every new organisation gets a 14-day free trial with full functionality and no payment details required. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription: Pro at R149 per month or Premium at R249 per month, billed monthly in South African Rand via Paystack, our payment processor. We do not see or store your card details.
If a payment fails, access is paused until payment succeeds. You can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice by email.
4. Your data is yours
All data you enter — lofts, birds, races, results, schedules — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it. When a trial or subscription lapses, your data is retained unchanged so you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe. You may request a full export or permanent deletion of your organisation's data at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
5. Decision-support features are guidance, not guarantees
Weather-based liberation recommendations and arrival predictions are estimates built on third-party forecast data and simplified models. They support the convenor's and fancier's judgement; they do not replace it. You remain solely responsible for decisions about liberating, transporting and caring for your birds. We accept no liability for losses — including loss of birds — arising from reliance on these features.
6. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to access other organisations' data, probe or overload the Service, reverse-engineer it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided "as is" without uptime guarantees. We may add, change or retire features; if we ever discontinue the Service entirely we will give at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law (including the Consumer Protection Act where it applies), our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Ending the relationship
You can close your account at any time from the Account screen or by emailing us. We can terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where reasonable. Sections about data, liability and disputes survive termination.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Disputes will first be attempted in good faith between the parties before any formal proceedings, which shall be brought in the courts of South Africa.
